Your New Music Teacher!
Thank you for taking the time and interest in considering me as your Vocal Coach, Voice/Singing Teacher and Piano Instructor.
My approach to teaching Voice comes from a very organic place, using unique tools of colors and breath that I have created for breath support and the connection of body awareness with the Voice, as the foundation of our Vocal Journey together. As we embark on our path together in Voice Training, the student sharpens their skills in ear training, sight reading, expression, articulation, vowel placement and the most important and meaningful skill, self-confidence!
Inspiring my students to trust themselves to allow themselves to explore and discover all the beauty and talent they have living inside of them is where the real work is!
The vulnerability a performer feels is very real. My job is to help my student to have the understanding of how to overcome the possible stage fright, anxiety and/or fear they may be experiencing and to guide and groom my student in their journey in our music lessons.
I use these same tools teaching Piano, albeit a different instrument all together. For the pianist it’s very important to have a connection of body awareness with breath when playing. Just like the singer must feel the connection within his/her self, the pianist must become ‘one’ with the piano.
I encourage my students to be creative and at the same time I am guiding and grooming my piano students to become musicians.
My piano students learn how to read music from the very beginning. Understanding the language of music is very important and in their piano journey with me they learn technique, articulation, staccato, legato, agility, ear training, sight reading, scales/arpeggios/chord structure, use of the pedal, expression and bringing out the ‘color’ of the piano instrument. Again, the most important and meaningful skill is self-confidence! To trust oneself is giving allowance to make the mistakes, therefore accepting this, to learn from them and overcome these obstacles with ease.
This is my calling! I am a caring and passionate teacher inspiring my students to aspire to be the best that they can possibly be while accepting, loving and believing in themselves to reach for the stars, no matter where life may take them!
I have been teaching Voice and Piano Lessons professionally since 2001. I have an AA in Music/Music Education in Piano and Voice from MDCC and a BM in Vocal Performance from UM, where I studied both Opera and Musical Theatre.
Currently I am teaching out of my Home Studio in Palmetto Bay, FL, where I offer a clean and welcoming environment for both the student and the parent. I offer in-person and virtual music lessons in voice and piano, and I accept music students starting from a good attention span 4-year-old and up.
